Carbon Journey

Matthew arrived in Moscow in February 2010 on a dark wintry evening. In the weekend that followed the city was enveloped in snow, creating a magical first image. This was reported as the largest two-day snowfall in forty years in Moscow and a reminder of how our climate is changing due to anthropogenic causes.
During the subsequent four years Matthew travelled to diverse, beautiful and often inaccessible places across Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan documenting many fascinating examples of where people’s efforts, intentional or not, have led to lower carbon lifestyles.
